Your first steps

diverscloseIt is incomparable to anything you have done before and there is  so much to see. We invite those of you who may be a little nervous about learning to dive, to start with us in Maldives. We conduct our courses according to the guidelines of PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) which means that your future certification will be accepted worldwide. The courses are mostly modular and provide some of the following options.

PADI eLearning

Now there is the possibility to finish your theory (Open Water and Advanced Open Water only) before you come out here to do the dive course with us. Through PADI e learning you can schedule your theory at your own convenience online at home. If you sign up for elearning and mention Delphis as the divecenter where you will do the water lessons we will deduct US 50 from your course fee. Even if you prebook your course through our website!

Your different options

Why dive with Delphis Diving Centers?

Added to the fact that we follow the PADI standards, there are some important extras which make taking our courses even more worthwhile:

Personal attention

Our diving classes are conducted in small groups. Personal care is insured and your course schedule can be planned with your instructor for your convenience.

Delphis is proud of the fact that some of our instructors have been with us for up to 10 years. This means that a wealth of teaching experience and knowledge of local conditions is available to you. Our instructors will be able to give guidance whatever your capacity or diving level, offering a helping hand when needed.

Free Try-Out

For those of you who are not really sure if you want to learn diving, we offer our free try-out. After a thorough briefing, our instructor will go with you in calm, shallow water to give you an opportunity to experience the sensation of being under water with diving equipment. After 15 minutes the instructor will ask you if you would like to begin the first lesson immediately. Should you decide not to continue the lesson, the instructor will help you out of the water and there will be no charge for the try-out.

The comfort and safety of diving is directly related to the used equipment. It is there that we make a difference! We only use high performance material that you will seldom see as rental equipment in diving centers around the world.

Lagoon lessons

Our confined water lessons are all conducted in a shallow part of the lagoon. When compared to a swimming pool lesson, a lagoon lesson gives more diving experience and enjoyment; immediately when you start a lot of small fish can be seen. When the lagoon lesson is completed we will take you for a mini-dive on the reef.

Modular system

The PADI courses we teach are modular. Having joined a course and taken the first or even second lesson, it is still possible to change course. After finishing the Scuba Diver Course you can still decide to change to Open Water Level, without the loss of any dives. A Scuba Diver Course is a Discover Scuba Diving Course plus 2 extra modules, and an Open Water Course is a Scuba Diver Course plus another 2 extra modules.
